The Palatka Amtrak station is a historic Atlantic Coast Line Railroad depot in Palatka, Florida. It is located at 220 North Eleventh Street, on the corner of US 17-FL 100.[3] It opened in 1909[3] and originally served as a junction with Florida Southern Railway, Georgia Southern and Florida Railroad (SOU) and the Palatka Branch of the Florida East Coast Railway. By 1914 it also began to serve the Ocklawaha Valley Railroad. In 1988, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.[2]
The station is used by Amtrak for both the Silver Service and the Sunset Limited, although the latter service has been suspended since Hurricane Katrina.[3] It is also the location of the Palatka Railroad Preservation Society and the Browning Railroad Museum.[4]
